When you reach the T junction leading onto the A76, turn left to Thornhill, carry on through the village for 1 mile.

Take the A702 south from Edinburgh(signposted Biggar & Carlisle) on to the A74 south bound.

Carry on along the A74 for about 5 miles and then take the A702 south signposted Thornhill & Drumlanrig Castle.
